Damascus Governor Mahir Marwan Idlibi, in a statement regarding the bomb attack in the Syrian capital Damascus that killed 6 people, announced that the attack was carried out with an improvised explosive device.
6 DEAD, 22 WOUNDED
According to a statement by the Syrian Ministry of Health on the official news agency SANA, the 6 people who lost their lives and the 22 wounded in the explosion that occurred at the entrance of a café operating between the Hijaz Railway and the Palace of Justice on Al-Nasr Street were taken to Al-Mujtahid Hospital. Images shared on social media showed the café damaged by the explosion and wounded people in the vicinity.
EXPLOSION CARRIED OUT WITH IMPROVISED BOMB
Damascus Governor Mahir Marwan Idlibi made statements regarding the bomb attack. Idlibi stated that the attack was carried out with an improvised explosive device prepared using simple methods. Emphasizing that some dark elements and parties aim to undermine the stability achieved in the region and deliberately shake the security environment, Idlibi stressed that they will not let up on the perpetrators of the attack. Governor Idlibi stated that expanded investigations in the future process will uncover all connections and new clues behind the attack. Idlibi said that every element that plays with the blood of Syrians and tries to create chaos in the country's territory will face the harshest punishment they deserve.
Idlibi stated that work continues daily and with full determination, without interruption, with all relevant units to strengthen the general security situation in Damascus, protect public peace, and maximize the level of stability.
