"The leader of the Future Party, Ahmet Davutoğlu, stating that he personally paid the greatest price in Syrian policy, addressed Ahmed al-Shara, the head of the new administration in Damascus: 'I am calling on Mr. al-Shara: The lands of Damascus are the lands of Saladin. Do not be a satellite or tool of anyone. Hold your head high; hold your head high against Israel, if necessary against America and France. The Turkish people, who have hosted millions of Syrians in their homes, are on your side.'"

Ahmet Davutoğlu, Chairman of the Future Party, directed harsh criticisms towards both the opposition and the government on various issues from foreign policy to education during the "New Path" Group Meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Criticizing Turkey's exclusion from the G-7 Summit with the words \"Woe to us,\" Davutoğlu stated that he personally paid the highest price for the Syria policy and made a historic call to the new administration in Damascus and Ahmed al-Sharaa.

\"KENYA IS THERE, SOUTH KOREA IS THERE, TURKEY IS NOT; WOE TO US!\"

Davutoğlu, harshly criticizing Turkey's lack of invitation to the G-7 Summit held last week, argued that Turkey is left out of the table in the international arena: \"I'm listing the countries invited to the G-7: Brazil, Egypt, India, Kenya, South Korea, Qatar, Syria, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates... Turkey is not there! Now, if Kenya and South Korea are invited somewhere, but Turkey is not invited to where Ukraine and Iran—the most critical global agendas—are to be discussed, then truly woe to us! That means you are not at the table. It means they come not for genuine negotiation, but to be part of your show.\"

\"THE OPPOSITION KNOWS NO CITY BESIDES DAMASCUS; THEY LOADED THE COST ONTO ME\"

Stating that both the government left him isolated and the opposition unfairly burdened him on the Syria issue, Davutoğlu said, \"I personally paid the highest price,\" using the following expressions: \"They attacked me from all sides. The government stayed silent and loaded the cost of Syria onto me. The opposition—those who cannot name two cities in Syrian territory, who know no city besides Damascus—tried to pin the Syria crisis on me. Now, it is my turn to ask. As a result of all those costs, there is a Turkish-speaking Foreign Minister in Damascus. But where are you? Did America pay the cost of Syria? We paid.\"

CALL TO AL-SHARAA: DON'T BE ANYONE'S SATELLITE

Addressing the leadership cadre of the new administration in Syria and Prime Minister Ahmed al-Sharaa (Abu Mohammad al-Julani), the leader of the Future Party emphasized the need to establish a new axis in the region: \"I address Mr. al-Sharaa: The lands of Damascus are the lands of Saladin Ayyubi. Don't be anyone's satellite or tool. Lift your head; stand tall against Israel, if necessary against America and France. The Turkish people, who have hosted millions of Syrians in their homes, stand by you. Don't be anyone's toy. We must urgently establish new partnerships along the Turkey-Iraq-Syria-Iran line; we must build the Mesopotamia-Levant line ourselves.\"

\"TEACHING CANNOT BE DONE THROUGH INTERVIEWS\"

Marking the end of the academic year, Davutoğlu also defended teachers who could not be appointed and who are victims of the interview system, launching the following salvos in domestic politics:

Reaction to Interviews: \"Turkey has turned into a republic of grievances. Interviews and teaching are concepts that cannot coexist. Teaching is a sacred profession; it is determined not by interviews, but by love, conscience, and heart.\"

On Paid Teachers: \"The attitude towards paid teachers constitutes a crime of extortion. Imposing heavy workloads without giving due rights is a crime under both the Turkish Penal Code and the Labor Law. The rights of these people cannot be usurped with limited-term contracts.\"
