After a 9-day break, the 43rd hearing of the IMM case resumed yesterday. Businessperson Yunus Göçer, who made the first defense of the day, stated, 'Making a contract does not constitute a crime. I and people like me are completing the number of people here. As a legal professional, I tried to read the entire indictment. The company I represent has been included in the case due to the perception created.'
The 43rd day of the IBB Case began in Silivri with the defense of businessman Yunus Göçer.
The trial of the IBB Case, which includes suspended and detained IBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu and involves 414 defendants, 68 of whom are detained, is being held on its 43rd day in Courtroom No. 1 of the Marmara Closed Prison in Silivri by the Istanbul 40th Heavy Penal Court.
İmamoğlu's father, Hasan İmamoğlu, who is being tried without detention, also attended today's hearing.
"MAKING A CONTRACT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A CRIME"
At the hearing, businessman Yunus Göçer first presented his defense. Göçer, who also stated that he is a graduate of Marmara University Faculty of Law, said the following:
"It is very clear that the allegations against me have no legal basis, and I believe that this situation will be seen and taken into consideration by the panel. I am only being tried under act 79. The interesting part is that companies that have signed 5, 10, 15, 20 contracts with IBB and its affiliates are not here. It is also correct that they are not here. Making a contract does not require being here. Making a contract does not constitute a crime. I and people like me are making up the number of people here. As a lawyer, I tried to read the entire indictment. The company I represent was included in the case due to the perception that was created."
