In the İnegöl district of Bursa, 10 people, including children, were injured in an attack with a pump-action shotgun following a fight in a children's park. Five suspects detained in connection with the incident were referred to the courthouse after police procedures. It was learned that one of the suspects stated in his testimony that he went to the park and opened fire "with the intention of intimidating."
In the İnegöl district of Bursa, an argument at a children's park turned into an armed attack hours later. In the attack carried out with a pump-action shotgun, 10 people, including children, were injured.
The incident occurred at a children's park on Park Yolu Street in the Süleymaniye neighborhood. According to claims, Özkan Ç. (18), Emirhan Y. (18), and Melih K. (18) argued with Uğurcan V. (27) and Berat V. (21), with whom they were playing ball in the park. The fight, which quickly escalated, ended when the parties separated.
THEY RETURNED HOURS AFTER THE FIGHT
According to claims, Özkan Ç., Emirhan Y., and Melih K., who had left the scene, returned to the park about two hours later. Özkan Ç. opened fire successively with the pump-action shotgun he brought towards the people in the park.
The pellets from the shotgun hit Uğurcan V. and Berat V., with whom he had previously fought, as well as Eymen Ç. (17), Ahmet Ç. (18), Osman Ş. (15), Ratibe A. (36), Bora V. (15), Yusuf S. (13), Davut Ç. (13), and Musab U. (16) who were in the park.
10 PEOPLE WERE HOSPITALIZED
While great panic ensued in the area upon the sound of gunfire, the injured were taken to İnegöl State Hospital by ambulances and private vehicles of citizens.
It was learned that the suspects fled after the attack, while police teams launched a comprehensive investigation.
5 SUSPECTS DETAINED
After the incident, police teams took extensive security measures in the area due to the possibility of a potential attack on workplaces belonging to the relatives of the attackers.
As a result of the efforts, Özkan Ç., Emirhan Y., and Melih K., who had fled the scene, were captured shortly after. Uğurcan V. and Berat V., who were determined to have been involved in the previous fight within the scope of the investigation, were also taken into custody.
"WE FIRED TO INTIMIDATE"
It was learned that Özkan Ç., who is stated to have opened fire with the pump-action shotgun, claimed in his statement that they were beaten in the park about two hours before the incident, saying, "We got angry about this situation. We went back to the park and fired to intimidate."
The 5 suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse by the Public Order Bureau teams.
