DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan stated at a press conference, "For Turkey's democratization, the Kurdish issue must be resolved through democratic means and methods, and the Turkish Grand National Assembly should take the initiative to open democratic political channels."

After the DEM Party delegation's meeting with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, the DEM Party continues its discussions with the parties represented in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM); DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan made striking statements.

CALL TO TBMM

Speaking at a press conference held in the TBMM, Doğan stated, "Today, there is a very strong possibility that a ground can emerge where the Assembly can play its role effectively. Therefore, the Assembly must be able to play this role as soon as possible and should take the initiative for Turkey's democratization, the democratic resolution of the Kurdish issue, and the opening of democratic political channels. We invite again to an initiative that has been delayed."

"WE REMIND OF WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE"

On the other hand, Doğan said, "Both verbally and through action, we are emphasizing how important it is to open the İmralı gates by pushing all democratic struggle channels, to establish contact with Mr. Öcalan, and to change his conditions for a democratic negotiation, solution, and peace. As the DEM Party, which has the most consistent policy on this issue, we have been closely following the developments that have occurred since October 1, and our relevant committees are monitoring these developments moment by moment. We are also reminding of what needs to be done," she stated.
