After Block3 became the most listened to singer in Turkey, pop singer Demet Akalın's allegations of "manipulation" caused tension between the two. Akalın, who reacted strongly to Block3's statements of "She can be considered my aunt," responded by saying, "Disrespectful, rude! Shame on you."
After the announcement that the most listened artist of the year in Spotify Turkey's 2025 Wrapped lists is Hakan Aydın, known as "Blok3", the queen of pop music, Demet Akalın, ignited a new debate in the music and magazine world. Akalın claimed that manipulation was taking place on digital platforms.
Akalın previously stated that unfair methods were used in the lists, saying, "Ebo (İbrahim Tilaver) called me one day in the summer and said, 'We will take her down from the top of the list tomorrow.' How do you know that the new song will be loved this much? BLOK3 makes beautiful songs, but there are other things going on there." These words quickly resonated widely on social media.
"SHE IS CONSIDERED MY AUNT"
While the discussions continued, Blok3, responding to journalists' questions at Zorlu Center, said, "It doesn't suit me to respond. She is older than my mother, the same age as my grandmother. It's normal for her not to catch up. I dropped her months ago. She is considered my aunt, and I respect that."
DEMET AKALIN'S STRONG RESPONSE
Following Blok3's statements, Demet Akalın did not remain silent. Sharing on her Instagram account, Akalın responded to the young rapper with harsh words.
Akalın stated in her post, "Disrespectful, rude! I have neither your height nor fake followers like you! You will see 30 years, don’t make me laugh. Shame on you."
