At the GQ Men of the Year event, the "Music Person of the Year" award was given to Emirhan Çakal, known as Çakal, which infuriated singer Demet Akalın. Akalın made strong statements on social media, targeting both the organization and Çakal, stating that the award should have gone to Sefo.
The award preferences at the GQ Men of the Year night sparked a new debate in the music world.
Demet Akalın, who learned that the 'Music Person of the Year' award was given to Çakal, erupted on social media.
"THE MUSIC PERSON IS SEFO"
Akalın reacted to Çakal receiving the award, who released the song "Şeker Oğlan" this year and collaborated with Serdar Ortaç on "Göçebe," stating, "The young person who made this year's song is Sefo, and he is the music person." Akalın reminded that the song "Yerinde Dur," which they performed together, is one of the most listened to songs of the year, saying, "If I were in his place, I would have caused an uproar. You will definitely push me out of my line!" criticizing the organization.
"THEY DIDN'T GIVE IT TO ME EITHER"
Akalın recalled an award that she said was not given to her years ago, stating, "They wanted to give an award with Türkan, but they said they gave it to the composer. As if their fathers read it!"
Akalın's post filled with spelling mistakes is as follows: I am 53 years old, Sefo is 27 years old!! If I were in his place, I would have caused an uproar, never mind sister, it's God's and the people's appreciation!! The young person who made this year's song is Sefo, and he is the music person!!! You will definitely push me out of my line!! They didn't want to give me the award with Türkan years ago, they said they gave it to the composer! As if their fathers read it!"
