Selahattin Demirtaş, former co-chair of the HDP, who is detained in Edirne Prison, met with the father and uncle of Rojin Kabaiş, who died under suspicious circumstances. During the meeting, which lasted approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, Demirtaş expressed his belief that the case would be resolved, stating, "No one can close this case. If it is a murder, it will be solved," offering support to the family.

Speaking after the meeting, father Nizamettin Kabaiş stated that the meeting went well and that Demirtaş's morale was high. Kabaiş reported that Demirtaş told them, "I wish I were outside, I would also like to come to the condolence. My family came."

According to father Kabaiş, Demirtaş stated that he has been following the Rojin Kabaiş file from the beginning and expressed his belief that the incident will be clarified.

It was reported that Demirtaş said, "I am sure that what happened to Rojin will come to light. The new Minister of Justice is interested in this matter. If this is a murder, it will definitely be solved. Rojin is the daughter of all of us. No one can close this file. If a DNA has been identified, no one can say suicide."

During the meeting, the discussions about the Van Bar Association withdrawing from the file also came up. According to Kabaiş, Demirtaş called on the family not to hold a grudge and said that the bar associations of Van and Diyarbakır would re-engage with the file.
