Thankfully, they came during a local election rather than a general one, so the people saw what they would experience; they are trying to save their own skin. It was tough, but we have narrowly escaped the danger."

Aslı Baykal, the daughter of the late former CHP Chairman Deniz Baykal, strongly criticized the statements made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in an interview with a foreign news agency. Aslı Baykal stated that the main opposition party is complaining about Turkey to the world, and questioned if there is another example of this.
"WE HAVE TURNED BACK FROM THE EDGE OF DANGER"
In her social media post, Baykal used the following expressions: "While Turkey is rapidly progressing towards becoming a country with a say in the world in its real agenda, the main opposition is going door to door to complain about Turkey to the world. Is there another example of this? Are they going to complain that 'they caught our theft and punished us'? Are they going to say 'the diploma was irregular, they didn't accept it, you tell them to accept it'? Thank God they came in local elections, so the nation saw what they would experience, trying to save their own skin. They thought of themselves as kings, and we watched in astonishment like a movie trailer what they would do if they seized power, filled with hatred and everything you can find in that trailer; it was hard, but we have turned back from the edge of danger."
