The singer Deren Talu, whose drug test result came back positive, made a scathing statement on her social media account. Talu, who claims she does not use drugs, said, "The sertraline found in my blood is from the antidepressant I take." Talu also stated, "I will be tested at an independent institution. I will not allow my name to be tarnished."
Deren Talu made a statement saying, "I will be tested at an independent institution. I will not allow my name to be tarnished," after traces of drugs were found in her blood.
As part of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on October 8, 19 individuals, including singers, influencers, and actors, were brought to the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command for questioning on charges of 'drug use.' Hair and blood samples were taken from the individuals who were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution for necessary analyses.
DRUGS DETECTED IN THE BLOOD OF 8 INDIVIDUALS
The drug test results of the famous individuals from whom blood and hair samples were taken during a drug operation in Istanbul have been revealed.
Drugs were detected in 8 of the famous individuals. It was learned that those individuals are Dilan Polat, Derin Talu, Berrak Tüzünataç, Deren Talu, Birce Akalay, Kubilay Aka, Metin Akdülger, and Kaan Yıldırım.
DEREN TALU'S STRONG STATEMENT
Following the development, Deren Talu, whose blood tested positive for drugs, made a strong statement. Talu, who claims she does not use drugs, stated that the substance detected in her blood is sertraline and is a result of the antidepressant she is taking.
Talu wrote, "I am in shock in the face of these alleged results." She expressed, "I am very angry and sad. I have never used drugs in my life, nor have I tried them. The results that allegedly appeared in my hair are absolutely not true. Is it really that easy to tarnish someone's name?
The sertraline found in my blood is from the antidepressant I take. Amazingly, this result is the only true one. And there is a valid reason for it. Because I have once again realized that it is impossible to live in this country without using antidepressants. I do not accept the results at all and do not trust them; I will be tested again at an independent institution. I will not allow my name to be tarnished."
DEFNE SAMYELİ PROTESTED
Deren Talu's mother, Defne Samyeli, also protested the results. In a statement on her social media account, Samyeli said, "I am someone who advocates for the prohibition of drugs, including cigarettes. The way the names of those detained were determined and how the allegations against them were made has not yet been communicated to them or to us, their families. Because there is a 'confidentiality' decision in the file.
Moreover, we are learning about these controversial test results from the press. We do not trust this operation or the results of the Forensic Medicine Institution. We will have these tests redone for my children at an independent expert hospital," she stated.
