The Deputy Group Chair of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, commented on the raising of the Turkish flag at Aleppo Castle, saying, "There are those who are happy that the Turkish flag has been planted in Aleppo. Whose land is Aleppo? Whose city is it? Does Turkey want to occupy Aleppo and Syria? We ask. Why do you not respect the will of the Kurdish people and the people living there?"

The co-chairs of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, made a striking statement regarding the control of Aleppo, the largest city in Syria, by the opposition.

"WHO DOES ALEPPO BELONG TO?"

Expressing that the will of the Kurdish people and the people living there is not respected, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit said, "There are those who rejoice because the Turkish flag has been raised in Aleppo. Who does Aleppo belong to? Whose city is it? Does Turkey want to occupy Aleppo and Syria? We ask. Why do you not respect the will of the Kurdish people and the people living there? Why do you not develop a policy for the Syrian people to live in peace? Why do you not stop these murderous gangs?"

"THERE CANNOT BE SUCH A PATH TO PEACE"

Stating that "there are more opportunities for peace today than ever," Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit continued: "There are conditions for the peace of Syria and for the peace of Turkey. But your intention is not peace. You are inciting war by calling it peace, escalating tensions in the country. By appointing trustees, you are disregarding the will of the people; can there be such a peace? Deepening isolation while claiming to seek peace, staging a coup against the people while calling it peace is not peace. There cannot be such a path to peace."
