In the Beypazarı district of Ankara, the traditional rain prayer held annually against drought has been replaced this year by a "bounty and gratitude" prayer due to the abundant rainfall.
Dağşeyhler Neighborhood, affiliated with the Beypazarı district of Ankara, hosted an extraordinary and heartwarming spiritual program.
THIS TIME, THEY RAISED THEIR HANDS NOT FOR DROUGHT, BUT FOR BOUNTY
Rain prayers, which are often held in many villages of Anatolia during drought periods to bring water to the lands, were organized in Dağşeyhler Neighborhood for the opposite reason this time. The abundant rainfall that has recently been effective in the region and vital for agricultural lands brought the neighborhood residents together in a gratitude square.
MANY CITIZENS FROM 7 TO 70 PARTICIPATED
Many citizens from 7 to 70 gathered in the village square and raised their hands together in prayer for the bounty brought by the rains and the abundance of the soil. The program, which started with recitation of the Quran, included odes and hymns. The neighborhood residents experienced the spiritual atmosphere together with the peace brought by abundance replacing the concern of drought.
Neighborhood headman Bayram Uysal said, "We held the gratitude prayer that we organize every year this year as well, with the participation of the citizens."
