The leader of the MHP, Devlet Bahçeli, referred to the discussions about the trustees in Mardin by mentioning the series "Uzak Şehir" (Distant City), stating, "The Mayor of Mardin is missing in the series." Bahçeli's remarks were interpreted as a message to the Ministry of Interior.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made a striking reference to the ongoing trustee discussions in Mardin through the series "Distant City" in his evaluation to journalist Ceyhun Bozkurt. Bahçeli's words were interpreted as a message to the Ministry of Interior in Ankara's corridors.
"I SAID SOMETHING WAS MISSING IN THE SERIES"
Bahçeli described the meeting as follows: "When Ahmet Türk visited us, I mentioned the series 'Distant City.' I said it reflects the beauty of Mardin very well. But I said something was missing in the series. I said, 'The Mayor of Mardin is not in the series.' Then he understood what I meant."
IS IT A MESSAGE TO THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR?
Bahçeli's statement about the "missing mayor" was evaluated as a message sent to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya in the corridors. The statement reignited discussions regarding the trustee process both in Mardin and Ankara.
THE TRUSTEE DISCUSSION CONTINUES
The Ankara 14th Heavy Criminal Court had acquitted Ahmet Türk on October 25. However, as a result of the examination conducted by the Ministry of Interior on November 4, it was decided that the trustee application in Mardin would continue.
