In the 18th meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, a decision was made by a majority vote to organize a visit to Imralı. In the vote held during the meeting, which the CHP did not attend in response to the decision for a "closed session," 32 commission members voted "Yes," 2 members voted "No," and 3 members abstained.
"Terror-Free Turkey" commission met today with the agenda of "Imralı". The 18th meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission started at 14:15. The main agenda item of the meeting was the planned visit to Imralı.
COMMISSION WILL GO TO IMRALI
During the meeting, a voting decision was made for the Imralı visit. The commission meeting was held behind closed doors. A decision was made to go to Imralı. The decision was made by a majority vote. In the voting, 32 commission members voted "Yes", 2 members voted "No", and 3 members abstained.
CHP MEMBERS DECIDED NOT TO ATTEND THE CLOSED SESSION
The Speaker of the Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, who initiated the commission meeting, stated, "In order to discuss the steps to be taken, I will put the proposal for the meeting to be held behind closed doors to a vote." In the voting, a decision for a "closed session" was made. CHP, EMEP, TİP, DSP, and DP voted against holding the meeting behind closed doors. CHP members decided not to participate in the closed session.
"I WILL GO ON BEHALF OF MHP"
On the other hand, the name to go to Imralı from MHP has been announced. MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız stated, "If the voting result is 'okay', an open vote should be held. I will go on behalf of MHP."
DEM PARTY NAMED KOÇYİĞİT
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan also announced that if the visit takes place, the party's group deputy chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit will be part of the delegation on behalf of the DEM Party.
CHP IS NOT GOING TO IMRALI
Finally, CHP also made its decision regarding the Imralı visit. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir stated that CHP will not send a representative to Imralı. The statement included, "We do not find it appropriate to provide a member for the commission to go to Imralı."
