A villa built on the slopes of Üsküdar Vaniköy in the Istanbul Bosphorus has become the agenda of Turkey. It is a matter of curiosity how the permission for this illegal villa construction, where trees were cut down in an area where even nailing is prohibited, was obtained, especially in the Bosphorus Outlook Zone. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MUNICIPALITYIt was learned that the zoning authority in the region belongs to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Bosphorus Planning Directorate under the administration of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. A remarkable statement was made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Bosphorus Planning Branch Directorate regarding this villa, which is stuck on the slopes of Vaniköy. In the statement, it was stated that the construction was sealed on August 16. However, it was learned that the construction activities continued until the incident broke out and the workers were removed from the site under police custody after the ministry teams arrived and stopped the construction. WORKERS: WE WERE NOT INFORMEDThe workers stated to the press members that they were not informed that the construction had been previously sealed and that they had continued their work until this morning. It was learned that a report will be prepared regarding the issue when the teams completing their work leave the construction site. HAS THE RUSSIAN OLIGARCH BEEN GIVEN AWAY?It was revealed that the area where the illegal villa is located was previously owned by the head of an organized crime organization, Adnan Oktar, and was purchased by Russian businessman Boris Borisenko last year. It was learned that Boris Borisenko, the owner of the UK-based company Pure Fueloil, paid $26 million for this land and villas. SO WHERE ARE İMAMOĞLU AND DEDETAŞ IN THIS MATTER?It is not known how Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who recently gave instructions for the demolition of illegal buildings in Çekmeköy, and Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, who allowed this illegal villa to be built, turned a blind eye to this dagger stuck in the heart of the Istanbul Bosphorus. It should be remembered that the duo frequently take boat tours on the Bosphorus when they come together. CONSTRUCTION STOPPEDMeanwhile, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change announced that the unauthorized construction has been stopped. In the statement, it was emphasized that the area is under the responsibility of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and it was stated, "It has been determined by our Provincial Directorate that an illegal construction activity contrary to legal regulations has been carried out in an area in Istanbul Üsküdar Vaniköy Bosphorus Outlook region. It has been stopped by our Ministry. Respectfully announced to the public."
