Dilan Çıtak Tatlıses, who opposed the law enacted for street animals, stated in a video she shared on her Instagram account, "I do not consider myself a human being anymore. I am not human. Humanity is a bad thing. I accept being an animal. I want to be proud of being an animal. I cannot be proud of my humanity. From now on, everyone can call me a dog. This is a very proud thing. I would be honored, proud. I would be proud of being such an honorable, dignified being. But I am not proud of being human," she said.
Dilan Çıtak Tatlıses, who quickly became a trending topic on social media with her words, received both support and criticism. Users who claimed that Tatlıses made such a post to gain attention said, "Let's protect and love animals, but humans first."
