It was reported that the test result of director Ezel Akay, who came to prominence with a drug operation in the İnegöl district of Bursa, was positive. Of the brothers referred to court, Ezel Akay was released under judicial control conditions, while Eren Kazım Akay was arrested and remanded in custody.
OPERATION LAUNCHED FOLLOWING TIP-OFF
Teams from the Narcotics Branch Directorate of the Bursa Provincial Gendarmerie Command took action after receiving information that cannabis was being grown at Ezel Akay’s residence. Under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the teams carried out an operation at the address on July 22 and searched the house.
During the search, cannabis plants believed to have been grown with a special setup and a large quantity of hashish were seized. The substances found were confiscated for examination. As part of the operation, Ezel Akay and his brother Eren Kazım Akay were detained.
BLOOD AND HAIR SAMPLES TAKEN
The two detained brothers were taken to İnegöl State Hospital to determine whether they had used drugs. Blood and hair samples were taken from Ezel Akay and Eren Kazım Akay there.
After their procedures at the gendarmerie were completed, Ezel Akay, one of the brothers referred to the courthouse, was released under judicial control conditions. His musician brother Eren Kazım Akay was arrested and sent to prison.
It was stated in the test results that both brothers’ drug tests came back positive.
