Footage taken a day before the disaster has emerged of the ship that capsized shortly after leaving Kyrenia Port in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The camera captured moments of passengers screaming on the ferry, which was speeding like a jet ski in closed and extremely rough seas in the Mediterranean.
A Turkish passenger catamaran capsized after departing from Kyrenia Port in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for Taşucu Port in Mersin on August 30. Eight people died in the accident, and 241 passengers were rescued. Search efforts continue for 20 missing passengers.

Footage of the capsized ship, taken one day before the accident, has emerged. In rainy and stormy weather, the ship was seen moving at extreme speed, like a jet ski, trying to navigate through huge waves. In the images captured by a passenger's mobile phone camera, people can be heard screaming.
THE SHIP THAT CAPSIZED OFF KYRENIA
The high-speed passenger ship named "Filo Jet," operating on the route between Kyrenia Port in the TRNC and Taşucu Port in Mersin, began taking on water from its bow shortly after departing from Kyrenia on Sunday afternoon.
The ship capsized while trying to return to Kyrenia Port.
While 241 people were rescued from the ship, the bodies of 8 people were recovered, and search operations continue for the 20 missing individuals.
It has been reported that the shipwreck was found at a depth of 550 meters in the sea.
