The Presidency of Communication's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) announced that the news shared with the claim "World-renowned bank Morgan Stanley has withdrawn from Borsa Istanbul" contains manipulation, as reported by some media outlets. In a statement made on DMM's social media account, it was noted that Morgan Stanley had previously applied to waive its existing operational licenses.
"MORGAN STANLEY'S WAIVER APPLICATION WAS ACCEPTED ON MARCH 12"
It was emphasized in the statement that this application was positively received by the Capital Markets Board, leading to the cancellation of the institution's Limited Authorized Intermediary License, and that Morgan Stanley was expelled from Borsa membership by the decision of the Borsa Istanbul Board of Directors dated March 12, 2025. It was stated: "Morgan Stanley Inc. has not actively intermediated transactions on Borsa Istanbul for many years. The claim that Morgan Stanley's waiver application, accepted on March 12, is a result of the current developments in our country does not reflect the truth. Please do not heed speculative statements that could disrupt the functioning of the capital markets."
