MINISTRY TAKES ACTION

The Ministry of Commerce announced that it swiftly initiated an investigation following the matter. In a statement issued by the ministry, it was emphasized that the situation in question is unacceptable.

The statement read, "The scenario described in this post is absolutely unacceptable. No child, no mother can be excluded from a place by being told 'you cannot sit here.' Such an act is not only morally unacceptable but also incompatible with trade ethics and laws."

FINE IMPOSED ON THE BUSINESS

It was stated that teams from the Istanbul Provincial Trade Directorate conducted an inspection at the restaurant on the same day, and violations of regulations were identified during the review, resulting in an administrative fine being imposed on the business.

Additionally, it was reported that the incident was documented under "Unfair Commercial Practice" and the file was recorded for referral to the Advertisement Board within the General Directorate of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance.

In the ministry's statement, it was noted that steps will continue to be taken to protect citizens' commercial rights and against similar practices.
