In the Black Sea, the Panamanian-flagged Turkish bulk carrier 'Victress' was struck during a drone attack on vessels flying the flags of Panama, Palau, and Belize. Ukraine stated that Russia carried out the attack, resulting in 2 fatalities and the evacuation of 8 sailors. Additionally, two Turkish citizens were injured.

TURKISH SHIP HIT IN DRONE ATTACK IN THE BLACK SEA

An attack was carried out on ships flying the flags of Panama, Palau and Belize in the Black Sea. The Panama-flagged ship that was hit was reported to be the Turkish bulk carrier 'Victress'. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba said that the ship, heading to Ukrainian ports at night, was subjected to a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle attack.

2 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES

Kuleba noted that a fire broke out on the Panama-flagged ship as a result of the attack, and reported that a 58-year-old cook and an Egyptian citizen from the crew lost their lives. Kuleba said, "8 sailors, including Turkish and Indian citizens, had to be evacuated by lifeboat. The ship suffered significant damage."

Kuleba also noted that the Russians attacked ships flying the flags of Palau and Belize, and reported that there were no casualties in the said attack and that the damaged ships continued their voyages.
