THROWN FROM HIS MOTHER'S LAP ONTO THE ROAD
The accident occurred around 14:00 at the intersection near the Boğazköy location. Nihat Ö., driving the car with license plate 38 D 9985, was returning with his family from a relative's condolence visit when he entered the intersection and collided with the truck with license plate 34 FZZ 772, driven by E.B. Due to the impact, 10-month-old Yamaç Özarslan, who was on his mother's lap in the back seat of the car, was thrown onto the road when the car door opened.
10-MONTH-OLD YAMAÇ BABY LOST HIS LIFE
The baby who fell onto the road was run over by the truck. Upon notification from those who witnessed the accident, health, fire department, AFAD, police, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that Yamaç Özarslan had lost his life during the health workers' check. Driver Nihat Ö., the baby's mother Emine, father Burak Özarslan (36), and grandfather S.Ö. were injured.
The injured were taken to Amasya Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Education and Research Hospital by ambulances after initial intervention at the scene. The baby's body was taken to the hospital morgue. It was learned that the treatment of the injured continues. An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
