Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made important statements at the Divan Council meeting. Özbek, who sent a message of victory to his fans before the Juventus match, also reacted strongly to Erman Toroğlu's bombshell claims regarding his meeting with TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, saying, "Those who say this do not know the Galatasaray community, its president, or its values. They are utterly ignorant people! There have been years when we couldn't become champions, but such a thing would never cross Galatasaray's mind."
Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made important statements regarding the agenda at the Divan Council's Ordinary Meeting in February. Özbek gave a message before the Juventus match and also reacted strongly to the allegations raised about his meeting with TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu.
"TUESDAY NIGHT WILL BE A VICTORY AGAIN"
Speaking at the meeting held in Özhan Canaydın Conference Hall, Özbek referred to the performance of the football team, stating, "Our football team is leading in the league and continues its path in the Champions League. We will face an important match against Juventus. We have achieved historic victories against Juventus in the past. I believe that Tuesday night will again be a night of victory. I invite all our fans to the matches against Eyüpspor and Juventus." he said.
"THERE IS AN ORGANIZED ATTACK ON GALATASARAY"
Addressing developments off the field, Özbek claimed that an organized smear campaign against Galatasaray is being conducted. "The external attacks and smear campaigns against Galatasaray are continuing at an extremely fast and intense pace. Anyone you can think of, from every sector... Commentators, folk singers, models... Organized. The statements are identical. It's as if someone has pressed a button." he said.
RESPONSE TO TFF MEETING ALLEGATIONS
Özbek also strongly responded to allegations that he said to TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, "We must definitely become champions this season, support us" during their meeting.
"I told the esteemed TFF President, 'Do not get involved in these polemics, let's focus on our work.' They said, 'The President of Galatasaray went to the TFF President and said, we are in a lot of trouble, we cannot become champions, we must definitely become champions this season, you need to support us.' Sports commentator Erman Toroğlu, in a TV program he attended, used the words, "Dursun Özbek said to the federation president in a secret meeting, 'we must become champions this year, the situation is very bad, help us, support us.'"
