After the recent resignation of MHP Deputy Chairman İzzet Ulvi Yönter, another noteworthy development occurred within the MHP.

MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın stated in his announcement, "The Istanbul Provincial Organization of the Nationalist Movement Party and 39 District Organizations have been dissolved based on the authority granted by Articles 52 and 54 of our party's statute, in accordance with Article 34 of our statute."

İzzet Ulvi Yönter's resignation following his post about "agents infiltrating the MHP" created a seismic effect within the party. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made a statement regarding the matter, saying, "Mr. İzzet has requested permission to focus more on his academic career in the coming days, to advance his doctoral title. The resignation is not based on any grievances." Özgür Bayraktar was appointed in place of Yönter.
