Emine Erdoğan met with Kim Hea Kyung, the wife of President Lee Jae Myung, as part of her visit to South Korea with her husband, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The two together opened an exhibition at the Korean War Memorial Museum consisting of photographs taken in Korea 70 years ago by Turkish photographer İzzet Keribar. Emine Erdoğan also shared moments from the visit on her social media account.
Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, attended the opening of an exhibition reflecting the friendship between the two countries during her contacts in Seoul. Emine Erdoğan also shared her impressions of South Korea on her social media account.

In her post sharing photos from the visit she made to Seoul together with President Erdoğan, Emine Erdoğan added the following note:
“The warmth and sincerity that greeted us in South Korea are the most beautiful expression of the deep-rooted brotherhood between the two nations.”
EXHIBITION OPENING AT THE KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL MUSEUM
Emine Erdoğan met with Kim Hea Kyung, wife of South Korean President Lee, at a special program held at the Korean War Memorial Museum. The two jointly opened the exhibition titled “The Birth of a Friendship: Korea 70 Years Ago Through the Lens of a Turkish Photographer.”
“THEY ARE ALSO WITNESSES TO HISTORY”
The exhibition features photographs taken by İzzet Keribar, one of the doyens of Turkish photographic art, while he was doing voluntary military service in South Korea seventy years ago. In her post about the program, Emine Erdoğan stated that Keribar’s photographs, in addition to their artistic value, are also witnesses to history.
Expressing that she found it very valuable to organize such an exhibition in the 69th year of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and South Korea, Emine Erdoğan made the following call:
“I invite everyone to visit our exhibition and embark on a journey full of memories and emotions through Mr. Keribar’s unique photographs.”
