SECOND DAY OF THE TRIAL

On the second day of the trial that began yesterday at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court, Narin's uncle Barış Güran was heard as a witness. In response to the judge's question, "Where were you on the day Narin went missing?" Güran said, "I was in the Derik district of Mardin, I came back in the evening." When asked, "Meetings were held, what was the reason?" Güran replied: "We were constantly told it was 'within the family.' Güran replied, "There is no truth to this, it is completely a lie." When asked, "Were you in the village during the search efforts?" Güran answered, "I never left the village." "I absolutely did not suspect him in any way. Salim was constantly participating in the search efforts. One day I asked Nevzat Bahtiyar, 'What do you understand from this job?' He said to me, 'May God not leave you without your rights.' I did not hold meetings without informing the soldiers."

"WHO DO YOU THINK KILLED NARIN?"

When the lawyer representing the Ministry of Family and Social Services asked, "Who do you think killed Narin?" Güran made the following statement:

"My village is not a rural village. The airport cameras are visible right across from my village, just below the city. If Nevzat really took this girl from Arif's house, then my family killed her. But if this girl did not come down the ramp, then Nevzat should not lie. Nevzat gave money in front of his own house 2-3 times, and with the last money he gave, he deceived the girl."

Witness Yusuf Kaya stated, in response to the judge's question, "Where were you on the day of the incident?" that "I arrived in the village at 18:00. After changing my clothes, I went to Enes around 18:30; they were on the hill. After sitting for 15 minutes, his mother came to us and said, 'Smoking is harmful, you are still young.' Then she called Enes and said, 'Dinner is ready.' After sitting a little longer, I went home."

Witness Ufuk Kaya answered the question, "What happened on the day of the incident?" as follows:

"I was at home until 15:00 that day. My grandfather had a guest, I went there and served tea. After that, I left and went up to the hill. My brother told me, 'Enes has come back from abroad.' He called Enes, but he did not answer. Later, I saw Enes. After sitting for a while, he said, 'I will take a shower and come back.' When he returned, we chatted a bit more and then went home."

DID ENES HAVE BRUISES ON HIS FACE?

Witness Furkan Kaya was asked, "What did you do on the day of the incident, did you meet Enes, did he have bruises on his face?" Kaya responded to these questions as follows:

"I went to work at 07:30 in the morning. Then I came back from work. I went home and took a shower. In the evening, when I got home, I heard that Narin was missing. I called Enes, but his phone was busy. I later met with Enes. He did not have any bruises on his face. His mother Yüksel did not come while I was there."

ROJİN, DAUGHTER OF SALİM GÜRAN: WE WENT SHOPPING AS A FAMILY

Rojin Güran, the daughter of uncle Salim Güran, was asked, "Where were you on the day Narin went missing?" Güran replied, "We went shopping as a family. After returning from shopping, around 14:30, my father said he was hungry. My mother made him food. While trying on the clothes we bought, my father said to us, 'Congratulations, it looks very nice.' Later, around 15:00-15:30, he left the house." When asked, "Did your father receive any phone calls?" Güran replied, "I did not hear." When asked, "Did anyone come to your house after that time, did Enes come to your house?" Güran said, "No."

In response to Diyarbakır Bar Association lawyer Derya Yıldırım's question, "You said, 'We came home around 14:30.' Did your father change his clothes?" Güran answered, "No."

Salim Güran's lawyer Onur Akdağ also asked, "Did you go to the engagement on July 16?" Güran replied, "Yes." When asked, "Did Narin come to the engagement?" Güran said, "My brother took them with my uncle Fuat's vehicle." When asked about what she did on the day of the incident, Rezan Güran, the daughter of uncle Salim Güran, said:

In response to the question, "Do you remember the time?" Güran said, "It was around 15:00-16:00." When asked, "Did Enes come to your house after your father left?" Güran replied, "No."

FIGHT AMONG WOMEN IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Witness Nesrin Güran was also asked about the fight among women in the neighborhood. Güran said, "I was not there at the time of the argument. After a while, I went down with the girls, calmed them down, and then went back up." At the end of the hearing, detained defendant brother Enes Güran was taken out of the hall under the escort of security forces, turning to Nevzat Bahtiyar, he said, "Let the camera recordings come out, you will see, Nevzat Bahtiyar.
