Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz responded to a parliamentary question regarding additional increases and welfare payments for pension salaries and the minimum wage, stating that the matter falls outside his duties and authority. Yılmaz indicated that such regulations are within the scope of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Celal Fırat brought the issue to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, citing the impact of high inflation and rising living costs on retirees and employees. Fırat submitted a parliamentary question requesting Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz to answer regarding additional raises or welfare shares to improve pension salaries and the minimum wage, and to compensate for inflation-related losses.

In his statement, Fırat noted that the living standards of minimum wage earners and retirees are gradually declining, arguing that the inflation-induced losses of wage earners should be compensated in July.

POSED 3 QUESTIONS

Fırat requested answers to the following questions in his proposal:

- Whether there is a study to redetermine the lowest pension salary considering the hunger and poverty line,

- Whether a regulation will be made to prevent net income loss for wage earners in tax brackets,

- Whether there are plans to provide additional raises or welfare shares to retirees and employees in 2026.
