President Erdoğan spoke at the United Nations Climate Summit. Erdoğan stated, "We aim to achieve a reduction of 466 million tons in emissions by 2035 and to decrease our emissions to 463 million tons. We have increased the share of renewable energy to over 60%. I would like to emphasize that the Zero Waste movement, under the patronage of Emine Erdoğan, plays a critical role in the fight against climate change."

In his speech, President Erdoğan stated; "We have built our climate policies on 7 pillars. We have also determined our second national contribution declaration to cover all sectors and all greenhouse gases. With the policies we will implement in the economy, we aim to achieve a reduction of 466 million tons of emissions by 2035 and to decrease our emissions to 443 million tons.
"WE ARE RAPIDLY STRENGTHENING OUR INFRASTRUCTURE"
While increasing the share of renewable energy and energy efficiency, we are promoting low-carbon technologies in industry. As of today, we have increased the share of renewable energy in total installed capacity to over 60%. We are rapidly strengthening the infrastructure, especially in electric vehicle production. We will continue to develop our key sectors in line with our net zero emissions target for 2050. International financing access and cooperation in technology are essential to achieve these goals.
I would like to especially emphasize that the Zero Waste movement, under the patronage of Emine Erdoğan, plays a critical role in combating climate change. We hope to crown all our efforts with the 31st Conference of the Parties to be hosted in 2026. With these thoughts, I wish the Climate Summit to be a harbinger of good things."
