Fenerbahçe Board Member Ertan Torunoğulları made statements after the Konyaspor match. In the Ziraat Turkey Cup Quarter-Final match, Fenerbahçe board member Ertan Torunoğulları, whose team lost 1-0 to TÜMOSAN Konyaspor with a penalty goal conceded in extra time, stated that VAR does not intervene for them at the same speed and that all clubs complain about referees and VAR. Following the match played at MEDAŞ Konya Metropolitan Stadium, Torunoğulları, speaking to the press, expressed that they had a sad night and apologized to the fans.

Torunoğulları explained that despite playing well for most of the game, they could not capitalize on many opportunities and lost the match due to a penalty, saying, "We congratulate Konyaspor; they fought well and won. If the penalty situation were in our favor, would VAR have intervened? Would there have been a quick review? Throughout the league, we have lost points in many such situations. Recently, in matches against Antalyaspor, Kasımpaşa, and Rize. If VAR works this quickly, we do not see it working at the same speed for us."
"WE APPLIED FOR THE DERBY"
Regarding the match they will play away against Galatasaray in the 31st week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Torunoğulları noted: "We wrote an official letter to the federation about the derby. Specifically, let there be representatives from both clubs in VAR. Let there be representatives from both us and Galatasaray to see the conversations, footage, and communications in VAR. We are waiting to see if Galatasaray will accept this. If you want to send a representative to VAR, both clubs must request it. We have submitted our application and are waiting for a response from the federation."
Torunoğulları also stated that they have made an official application to the TFF for the VAR records of the Çaykur Rizespor match and want to listen to all conversations between the referees and VAR.

Torunoğulları expressed that all clubs complain about referees and VAR but no solution has been produced, using the following statements:
"The federation says, 'We will penalize the referee.' What does it matter if the referee is penalized or not, as long as we don't become champions? Everyone complains about referees and VAR. We only talk, but nothing changes. If everyone is complaining, it means there is a problem. And it is the federation that will solve this problem. Instead of talking about football on all channels over the weekend, we are talking about referees and VAR. Even if you bring the biggest stars in the world, nothing will change as long as these mistakes continue."
