European Stock Markets Close With Gains

All major indices in Europe closed in positive territory Thursday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 5.53 points, or 1.2%, to close at 465.92.

London's FTSE 100 increased 65 points, or 0.92%, to 7,207, while Germany's DAX 30 was the best performer of the day -- soaring 213 points, or 1.4%, to 15,462.

France's CAC 40 increased 87 points, or 1.33%, to close at 6,685 points.

Italy's FTSE MIB 30 and Spain's IBEX 35 recovered from losses during the previous day to close the session in positive territory.

Borsa Italiana FTSE MIB 30 showed a strong increase -- jumping 318 points, or 1.23%, to 26,277.

IBEX 35 added 43, or 0.49%, to end at 8,925. -
