The final match of the second most important club-level tournament in European football will start at 22:00 at Beşiktaş Park. In the grand final, which will be broadcast live on TRT 1, both teams will take the field to win the first Europa League trophy in their history.

BOTH TEAMS WANT THEIR FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP

Aston Villa and Freiburg will experience the excitement of the UEFA Europa League final for the first time in their histories. The English representative previously achieved a historic victory in the 1981-82 season, beating Bayern Munich 1-0 in the European Cup final in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with a goal from Peter Withe. The Birmingham side also secured their second European trophy by defeating Barcelona 3-1 in the 1982 UEFA Super Cup final. Freiburg, on the other hand, will play in a European cup final for the first time in their history.

EMERY TAKES THE FIELD FOR THE 5TH CUP

Spanish coach Unai Emery, whose name is synonymous with the UEFA Europa League with 4 championships, aims to improve his record as the coach with the most cup wins against Freiburg.

The 54-year-old Emery, who has played in 5 finals in the tournament, won the cup with Sevilla in 2014, 2015, and 2016, and with Villarreal in 2021, while losing in the final with Arsenal in 2019. The 41-year-old Julian Schuster will compete for the championship in the first final of his career.
