Huaxi Village in China is known as the richest village in the world. Everyone in the village has millions of dollars in their bank accounts, and the income is distributed equally among all. However, there is a challenging condition awaiting the residents of the village. That condition is "Everyone must work seven days a week for the well-being of the village."
China's Huaxi Village is known as the richest village in the world and attracts a lot of attention with this feature. The process, which started with Wu Renbao being appointed as the village communist party committee secretary in the early 1950s, became interesting over time. Renbao, who established a factory in the village in 1969, established 12 companies from textiles to steel in the village and took the village to the Chinese stock exchange in 1998.
VILLAGERS HAVE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS
The village population of about 600 people, who used to live by farming until the establishment of the factory, turned to industry with this economic move. The locals of Huaxi not only worked as the working class in the factory. Everyone living in Huaxi became a shareholder of the company called "Huaxi Village Corporation". The income of all the companies established in the village was distributed to all villagers at the end of the year with a 20% share. With this method, there was not a single poor person in the village. It is estimated that everyone has $250,000 in their bank accounts.
THERE IS NO ENTERTAINMENT SPOT IN THE VILLAGE
Currently, there are 2,000 people living a luxurious life in Huaxi Village. However, villagers have to comply with strict social rules. Gambling and drugs are strictly prohibited. There is no bar, club, internet cafe, or karaoke salon. The design of this village aims to allow people to go home only after work without including entertainment spots.
THOSE WHO LEAVE THE VILLAGE CANNOT TAKE THEIR FORTUNE WITH THEM
An attorney named Yuan Yulai from a law firm stated in an interview with AFP, "Even if the villagers are rich, they cannot take their personal assets when they leave the village, so it is doubtful whether the assets belong to the villagers." They also need permission to use their money in the bank. Even if they withdraw their money, they still have to use it to buy property or land within the village. If they don't use it this way, they are not allowed to withdraw money from their banks. No matter how rich you are here, your assets cannot be taken out of the village.
WORKING SEVEN DAYS A WEEK IS MANDATORY
There is a tough condition for village residents. Everyone is required to work seven days a week, including weekends, "for the good of the village," especially in the city's industrial factories.
OUTSIDERS CANNOT BENEFIT FROM THE WEALTH
The world's richest village currently has 80 factories and has expanded to include neighboring villages. Moreover, not all workers are local residents. Tens of thousands of people come to Huaxi to work in the steel and textile factories as well as the tourism industry. Outsiders do not get their share of the magnificent luxuries that this village offers to its locals. Approximately 2 million tourists come to this small Chinese village every year to see the "Model Socialist Village".
