In the İmrahor neighborhood of the Mamak district in Ankara, a dump truck loaded with tar, with license plate 06 DB 8130, driven by Y.E. and owned by a private construction company, lost control for an undetermined reason.

DUMP TRUCK CRUSHED A CAR

The truck, which swerved down the hill, collided with a car with license plate 06 DE 3670, driven by Ese Güner, who was present in the area for inspection on behalf of the Mamak Municipality. The car, which had three municipal personnel inside, was dragged approximately 30 meters under the dump truck. Some of the tar in the truck's bed also spilled onto the car.

3 MUNICIPAL PERSONNEL LOST THEIR LIVES

Upon receiving reports from bystanders, a large number of health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Health teams determined that Mustafa Ali Köksal and Emrah Soylu, who were in the wrecked vehicle, died at the scene. Ese Güner, the driver of the car, died in the hospital to which he was transported. It was learned that the deceased personnel worked in the municipality's illegal construction and urban transformation unit.

The truck driver Y.E., who had his license revoked multiple times for driving under the influence and received numerous traffic fines for similar situations, was detained by the police.

Mamak Mayor Veli Gündüz Şahin, who made a statement regarding the accident, said, "It is a very tragic incident. The truck loaded with asphalt could not take the turn. It dragged the vehicle for 27 meters. Two of the people in the vehicle died at the scene, and one in the hospital. All the deceased were municipal employees."

CHP Mamak District Chairman Ali Rıza Erdek stated, "The truck dragged the vehicle for 27 meters. We are following the issue. Necessary procedures will be carried out. We heard that the truck driver has been detained. There was no health issue with him. The families of the deceased have been notified. Their bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution."
