54 people were injured in an explosion at a factory in Qatar's Ras Laffan Industrial City. Officials continue search and rescue efforts to find 18 missing persons, while it was announced that a fire that broke out at a gas supply facility following the explosion has been extinguished. An investigation into the cause of the incident has been launched.
An explosion in the Ras Laffan Industrial Area, located north of Qatar's capital Doha, caused panic. Qatar's Ministry of Interior announced that 54 people were injured in the incident.
In a statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that search and rescue teams continue their efforts to find the 18 people who went missing after the explosion.
EXPLOSION OCCURRED AT A FACTORY
In a previous statement, Qatar's Ministry of Interior announced that the explosion occurred at a factory in the Ras Laffan Industrial Area due to a technical malfunction.
After the incident, numerous teams were dispatched to the region, and it was reported that the injured were taken to hospitals for treatment.
FIRE AT GAS FACILITY EXTINGUISHED
Qatar Energy Company announced that the fire that broke out at the local gas supply facility after the explosion was brought under control and completely extinguished.
Authorities stated that investigations into the cause of the explosion are ongoing, while efforts to reach the missing individuals continue uninterrupted.
