Thermometers burst in France! 845 schools closed

Due to the extreme heat wave affecting France, 845 schools were closed today, and school hours were changed in 1,800 schools. Meteorology stated that temperatures will rise further and declared a red alert in 49 provinces and an orange alert in 40 provinces. Authorities warned citizens to be cautious against the extreme heat.

Due to the extreme heat wave increasing its impact in France, extraordinary measures have begun to be taken in many regions. The French meteorological agency Meteo-France raised alarm levels after temperatures reached dangerous levels across much of the country.

In a statement made by the agency, it was reported that "red" alerts were issued in 35 provinces and "orange" alerts in 45 provinces. Officials stated that temperatures are expected to rise further and announced that as of today, red alerts will be in effect in 49 provinces and orange alerts in 40 provinces.

EDUCATION SUSPENDED IN 845 SCHOOLS

French Minister of National Education Edouard Geffray announced that 845 schools will be closed today due to the extreme heat.

Geffray also stated that approximately 1,800 schools will adjust their class hours to reduce students' exposure to the hot weather.

Authorities warned that especially the elderly, children, and citizens with chronic illnesses should not go outside unless necessary.
