Following the hotel fire tragedy in Kartalkaya Ski Resort in Bolu, where 10 people lost their lives and 32 were injured, an explosion occurred at a hotel in Yıldız Mountain Winter Sports and Tourism Center in Sivas. According to initial reports, 4 people were injured, 12 of whom are in serious condition.

In the Yıldız Mountain Winter Sports and Tourism Center in Sivas, a small explosion occurred for an undetermined reason in the resting room of female ski athletes located in the basement of a hotel owned by Buruciye AŞ. Upon receiving the information, health and fire teams were dispatched to the scene.

ATHLETES INJURED

In the explosion, coaches Kibar Genç and Nihan Erdiler, as well as ski athletes Buse Dilara Yalman and Beril Çevik were injured. Genç was transported by ambulance helicopter, while the other injured were taken to hospitals in the city by ambulances.

In a statement from the Sivas Governorate, it was reported that a small explosion occurred in the resting room of female ski athletes for an unknown reason, resulting in two ski athletes and one coach being lightly injured, while another coach sustained second-degree burns on their hands and face.

The statement added, "The injured have been transferred to hospitals in the city center by ambulance helicopter and other ambulances, and their treatment has begun. The injured citizens are not in life-threatening condition. There has been no fire in the hotel. An investigation into the cause of the explosion has been initiated by our gendarmerie crime scene investigation teams."
