Alarko Carrier has decided to halt production at its factory in the Gebze district of Kocaeli. At the factory, which is planned to cease operations at the end of February 2027, the employment contracts of 183 employees will be terminated. The company anticipates paying approximately 293 million TL in severance and notice pay to employees, while it announced that production will continue at its factory in Eskişehir.

Alarko Carrier Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. announced its decision to close the Gebze Factory with a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). In line with the decision taken at the company's board of directors meeting dated November 5, 2026, production activities at the factory will be terminated after existing orders are completed.

GEBZE FACTORY WILL STOP PRODUCTION

According to the company's statement, activities at the Gebze Factory, where Carrier-brand air handling units, rooftop air conditioners and fan coil products are produced, are planned to be stopped on February 28, 2027. Since all production at the factory consists of Carrier-brand products, the facility's production will also end when the company terminates its activities for this brand.

It was reported that the decision was taken within the scope of the share purchase agreement and business separation agreement signed between Alarko Holding and Carrier HVACR Investments B.V. Existing and accepted orders will be completed and shipped in line with customer commitments.

EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS OF 183 EMPLOYEES WILL BE TERMINATED

With the closure of the factory, the employment contracts of a total of 183 employees working in production, R&D and support units will be terminated. The employment contracts of 119 of the employees will be terminated as of December 31, 2026. The employment contracts of the remaining 64 people will be terminated gradually by the end of February 2027, depending on the production and shipping schedule.

The company announced that individual written notifications will be made to employees starting from November 5, 2026, taking legal notice periods into account.

APPROXIMATELY TL 293 MILLION IN COMPENSATION WILL BE PAID

According to Alarko Carrier's KAP statement, the total severance and notice pay foreseen to be paid to employees who will be dismissed will be approximately TL 293 million. Work continues to calculate the total financial impact of the decision, including other employee liabilities and facility closure expenses.

It was stated that the finalized amounts will be reflected in the company's relevant financial statements and that significant developments will be shared with the public.

IT ACCOUNTS FOR 55 PERCENT OF THE COMPANY'S PRODUCTION COST

It was announced that the share of production at the Gebze Factory in the company's total production cost is approximately 55 percent. Sales of Carrier-brand products produced at the factory in 2025 accounted for approximately 13 percent of the company's total net sales.

With the restructuring, the company aims to use resources more efficiently, increase operational efficiency and reduce expenses.

ESKİŞEHİR FACTORY WILL CONTINUE PRODUCTION

It was reported that the decision to stop production in Gebze will not affect the Eskişehir Factory. Production of Alarko-brand products and sales and after-sales service activities in Eskişehir will continue as they are.

Alarko Carrier announced that it does not expect the closure of the Gebze Factory to have a negative impact on the continuity of the company's operations. It was noted that the date on which production will end may change depending on supply processes and the customer shipping schedule.
