Famous actress Eda Ece made a comprehensive statement regarding her remarks from 2023, which resurfaced on social media following the investigation into Haluk Levent and the Ahbap Association. Stating that she has no connection with the Ahbap Association, Ece apologized once again for her statements regarding the election results in the earthquake zone, saying, "It was not my place to interfere with voting rights."

Following the investigation into Haluk Levent and the Ahbap Association, old footage circulating again on social media brought actress Eda Ece back into the spotlight. Having faced criticism for her speech at an award ceremony in 2023 regarding the election results in the earthquake zone, Ece responded to allegations about the Ahbap Association and apologized again for her controversial remarks through consecutive statements on her Instagram account.

"I NEVER DONATED TO AHBAP"

In her statement, Eda Ece emphasized that she has no financial or organizational ties to the Ahbap Association. The actress stated that she never donated to the association, supported any fundraising campaigns, or made any posts encouraging the public to donate, attributing this to a negative experience a close friend had years ago.

Ece noted that due to this incident she heard from her close circle, she never fully trusted the association, yet she added that she never made any public statements disparaging Ahbap.

"I PARTICIPATED IN THE DONATION BROADCAST AT THE CALL OF OUR STATE"

Ece stated that during the earthquake period, she only participated in the joint donation broadcast on ATV organized at the state's call, and that aside from that, she carried out relief efforts without any intermediary organizations.

The actress explained that she, along with the cast of the series she was in, personally procured necessary supplies and took them to the earthquake zone, visited hospitals, and chose not to publicize any of their aid work.

"I MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE"

Addressing her speech while receiving an award in 2023, Eda Ece said the earthquake process placed a heavy psychological burden on her.

Stating that the joke she made at the end of her speech was a big mistake, the actress said, "I felt so heavy that I felt the need to make a joke. I wish I hadn't. I wish a wasp had stung my tongue instead. I was so sad, so regretful—I shouldn't have said such a thing."

"THE LYNCHING HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS"

Ece, stating that the reactions have continued for years, said she remained silent against the insults directed at her and her family.

The actress noted that criticisms continued even during her pregnancy, and although her child is now two years old, the lynch campaign she experienced has not ended, adding that she has only chosen to apologize until now.

"IT WAS NOT MY PLACE TO INTERFERE WITH VOTING RIGHTS"

At the end of her statement, Eda Ece apologized once again to everyone she had hurt, especially earthquake victims.

The actress said, "I apologize first and foremost to the earthquake-affected citizens, to everyone I have hurt, and to our state. It was not my place to interfere with voting rights. I am truly ashamed. I wish I had not made that joke. Using divisive language was not something I would do. It did not suit me."

Arguing that the perception formed about her does not reflect her true character, Eda Ece stated that she has never wished ill upon anyone and concluded her statement with the words, "Please forgive me. I will not commit such an impertinence again."

WHAT HAD SHE SAID?

At the award ceremony she attended, regarding the support of citizens living in the earthquake zone for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party in the election, Eda Ece had said, "Everything we did for the earthquake zone, they thought others were doing. We understood that from the ballot box, but oh well."
