A legal process has been initiated regarding the past transfers of Galatasaray's Gabriel Sara. Scout Orlando Gonçalves claimed to be the person who brought Sara to Sao Paulo and initiated legal action. Gonçalves won the case based on the documents he presented, and Sao Paulo paid him a five percent share in July of this year. After Sara's transfer to Galatasaray, Gonçalves filed another lawsuit, but the court ruled that Gonçalves acted in bad faith.
The Super Lig giant Galatasaray's Brazilian star Gabriel Sara has made a surprising application to the court regarding his past transfer.
AGENT GONÇALVES INITIATED LEGAL ACTION
According to a report by UOL Esporte, Sao Paulo sent Gabriel Sara to Norwich City for a fee of 10.5 million euros in 2022. Scout Orlando Gonçalves claimed to be the person who brought Gabriel Sara to Sao Paulo after this transfer and initiated legal action following the transfer.
AGENT WON THE CASE
The report stated that agent Gonçalves presented an internal club document dated 2013 to the court. This document indicated that the then-president Juvenal Juvencio granted him five percent of the player's economic rights. It was reported that agent Gonçalves won this case. Following this development, the Brazilian League team Sao Paulo paid agent Gonçalves' five percent share from the transfer in July of this year.
RETURNED TO COURT AGAIN
The Championship team Norwich City sent Gabriel Sara to Galatasaray in 2024, and Sao Paulo earned a little over 10 million reais (1.6 million euros) from this transfer. Agent Orlando Gonçalves filed another lawsuit against Sao Paulo based on the 2013 document. This time, agent Gonçalves demanded a portion of the revenue the club earned from Sara's sale. However, this time agent Orlando Gonçalves' attempt was unsuccessful. The case was heard last week by the Sao Paulo Court of Justice. The decision threatened to impose sanctions on agent Orlando Gonçalves for acting in bad faith in the case. It is believed that agent Gonçalves attempted to receive payment twice for the same right. Despite the court's decision, scout Orlando Gonçalves reportedly filed an appeal.
