The famous pop singer stated that she was diagnosed with chronic insomnia, saying she stays awake 24 hours a day and added, 'I became like Kanye West.' Derici, who confessed to having epileptic seizures due to a neurological disorder in her brain, described the crisis she experienced while in the studio with rapper Sefo, saying, 'I was lying on the floor covered in foam, but those around me thought I was joking and didn't believe me.'
Famous pop singer İrem Derici revealed serious health problems she had been hiding from everyone for years for the first time on a YouTube program. Derici, who was a guest on Sina Özer's digital show, shared the horror of the epileptic seizures she experienced in the past and disclosed her latest psychiatric diagnosis. The famous singer stated that she has been going through a very difficult mental and physical process since October.
"MY LATEST DIAGNOSIS IS INSOMNIA"
İrem Derici, who said she has been visiting doctor after doctor for a long time to find the correct diagnosis, stated that she had just left her psychiatrist before coming to the program. The famous singer, noting that her mind was constantly confused by different diagnoses, summarized her experience with these words:
"I don't want to fight with anyone anymore. I am not an angry person. Since October, my mind has been back and forth. One tells me 'you have become borderline,' another says 'you are not.' Today I came after leaving the psychiatrist. I learned that I have insomnia (chronic sleeplessness). I want to stick with this doctor. Insomnia is my latest diagnosis."
Derici, who mentioned that she stays awake 24 hours a day and is therefore constantly active on social media, reported that her doctor told her, "Your psychology is not broken; you have a neurological disorder. We will handle this with medication."
HAD AN EPILEPTIC SEIZURE IN THE STUDIO WITH RAPPER SEFO
Admitting that her health issues are actually not new and that she has had an electrical system disorder in her brain (epilepsy) since 2017, the famous artist shared a chilling memory for the first time. Derici, who described having a seizure in the studio while preparing a duet with rapper Sefo, expressed her helplessness with these words:
"The electrical system in my brain has been disrupted. This causes epileptic seizures. In fact, I experienced one of these seizures during the period we were preparing our duet with rapper Sefo. I was left in a foam on the floor, but at that moment, those around me didn't believe me; they thought I was joking."
İrem Derici, who said the results of EEGs (brain electrograms) done over the years have always been abnormal, stated that she will now start regular medication to prevent these neurological conditions.
