The funeral ceremony for Akbayram began at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. With his principles, upright stance, and unshakeable revolutionary Atatürk identity, Edip Akbayram came to this country but will never be forgotten. I will keep you, father. Speaking at the ceremony, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu said, "Edip Akbayram is one of Turkey's strong voices. We are in sorrow for losing him. Edip Akbayram is a very special person. His love for his country, the desires, feelings, and thoughts of this people were always expressed through his songs, touching the souls of all of us. He touched the lives of millions. He was a beautiful person with a heart as lovely as his voice. I am honored to have known him. He always stood for humanity, love, and equality. Edip Akbayram never compromised his honorable stance. It is our duty to keep Edip Akbayram's name alive. We will pay our debt to Edip Akbayram, who will live on in our souls and feelings. We will strive to repay it. There are timeless artists. Edip Akbayram is such a person. May Edip Akbayram's soul rest in peace. May his place be heaven.
