A father and son working on a water well in Bartın were suddenly trapped under sliding soil. Upon the excavator operator's report, teams dispatched to the area rescued 70-year-old Mustafa İnan and his 46-year-old son İzzet İnan from the collapse, injured, after about 2 hours of challenging work.
Mustafa İnan, 70, and his son İzzet İnan, 46, who were working to lay a water line to a hazelnut orchard in Bartın, were buried under a landslide in the water well. After approximately 2 hours of work by the teams, the father and son were rescued injured and taken to the hospital.
LANDSLIDE WHILE WORKING IN THE WATER WELL
The incident occurred around 19:30 in the Atkütük area of Yenihamidiye village. According to the information obtained, Mustafa İnan and his son İzzet İnan went to the water well, approximately 2 kilometers from the village, to connect a water hose to the hazelnut orchard.
While work was being carried out with an excavator in the well about 2 meters deep, soil suddenly slid onto the father and son. The excavator operator, seeing the two people buried under the collapse, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
FATHER RESCUED FIRST
Upon the report, gendarmerie, health, fire brigade, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. As a result of the intense efforts of the teams, Mustafa İnan was first removed from the soil. The injured father was taken to Bartın State Hospital by ambulance.
Rescue efforts continued for İzzet İnan, who was buried up to his waist in soil. Health teams administered first aid to İzzet İnan at the location by attaching a serum.
RESCUED AFTER 1 HOUR OF EFFORT
After approximately 1 hour of work, İzzet İnan was also removed from his location. Following the intervention of health teams, he was also taken to Bartın State Hospital by ambulance.
It was learned that the health conditions of the father and son are good, and an investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
THEY ENTERED THE WELL TO PULL THE WATER HOSE
Hasan Öztoprak, the headman of Yenihamidiye Village, stated that the father and son were digging a water well with the help of an excavator, and while they were trying to pull a hose to benefit from the water in the tank, the soil slid onto them.
