The joyful day of the family, who came from Manisa for a holiday, turned into a life-and-death struggle when they got caught in a current. Citizens and health teams brought the unconscious family ashore, where they received CPR and artificial respiration for minutes on the beach. The father and his two children, whose hearts were restarted, continue their fight for life in the hospital.

In an event where local citizens and rescue teams raced against time, the father and his children were brought back to life through minutes of cardiac massage and artificial respiration, though their condition is reported to be serious.
The incident occurred at Şakran Beach in the Aliağa district. According to information obtained, Serkan Ş., who lives in Manisa, came to İzmir with his children E.Ş. (14) and Ş.E.Ş. (10) for Father's Day. After entering the sea to cool off, the father and his two children began struggling in the water. Upon notification from citizens who noticed the situation, gendarmerie, Coast Guard, and medical teams were dispatched to the area.
RACE AGAINST TIME ON THE BEACH: HEARTS RESTARTED
Once the family was brought ashore unconscious by citizens and teams, a life-and-death struggle ensued on the beach. After artificial respiration, 10-year-old Ş.E.Ş. began breathing again, while 14-year-old E.Ş., whose heart had stopped, was revived through minutes of cardiac massage.
CONDITIONS SERIOUS
After initial interventions, the injured were taken to hospitals by ambulance: Ş.E.Ş. was transferred to İzmir City Hospital, while father Serkan Ş. and his daughter E.Ş. were sent to Çiğli Training and Research Hospital. It has been reported that the father and his two children, who are under treatment, remain in critical condition. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
