In the closed group meeting held under the chairmanship of the General Chairman of the NEW Party, Özgür Özel, the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly was determined as Tekin Bingöl; the members of the Group Executive Board were determined as Burhanettin Bulut, Veli Ağbaba, Turan Taşkın Özer, Seyit Torun, and Özgür Karabat. Aliye Coşar was elected as the clerk member, and Harun Özgür Yıldızlı was elected as the administrative officer.
Members of the NEW Party gathered today for a closed group meeting at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. The meeting, held in the NEW Party Group Hall, was chaired by Chairman Özgür Özel. Starting at 11:45, the meeting lasted approximately half an hour.
During the meeting, Tekin Bingöl, the Ankara deputy who previously held this position in CHP, was elected as the NEW Party Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Burhanettin Bulut, Deputy from Adana; Veli Ağbaba, Deputy from Malatya; Turan Taşkın Özer, Deputy from Istanbul; Seyit Torun, Deputy from Ordu; and Özgür Karabat, Deputy from Istanbul were elected as members of the Group Executive Board.
Kocaeli Deputy Harun Özgür Yıldızlı, who also served as the administrative officer for the CHP Group, was appointed as the administrative officer for the Parliamentary Presidency Council. Antalya Deputy Aliye Coşar was designated as the clerk member.
"WE ARE READY TO WORK LIKE A SOLDIER FOR OUR NEW PARTY"
In his evaluation regarding his election to the group administration, Ağbaba stated, "I had not taken on any role after the November 2023 Congress. I previously stated, 'I am not a candidate for any position in my party. Our new and young friends should take on roles.' However, today, with an assignment, I became a member of the Group Executive Board. We are always ready to work for our NEW Party, under the leadership of our Chairman, whatever the task may be, like a soldier."
CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre also commented on the Group Executive Board elections, saying, "Friends who were founders but not in the PM were considered."
