The Fenerbahçe management will file a complaint with UEFA against the referee Allard Lindhout for the Viktoria Plzen match with a detailed presentation.
Fenerbahçe is preparing to file an official complaint with UEFA regarding Dutch referee Allard Lindhout after a clear penalty decision was not given in the away match against Viktoria Plzen.
CONTROVERSIAL DECISION UPSET THE COMMUNITY
Fenerbahçe, which drew 0-0 away against Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Europa League, was infuriated by a controversial incident that occurred in the extra minutes of the match.
In the 90+5th minute, Jhon Duran fell to the ground in the penalty area after his opponent Dweh pulled his shorts. Referee Lindhout, who continued the game, was called to the screen by VAR referee Dennis Higler. However, the Dutch referee did not change his decision despite watching the incident and continued the game instead of awarding a penalty.
MANAGEMENT IS APPLYING TO UEFA
Fenerbahçe players reacted to the decision for a long time on the field, while the football community also agreed that the incident was a "clear penalty." The yellow-navy management is preparing to submit a detailed video and report to the UEFA Disciplinary Committee regarding the events.
LINDHOUT'S PAST HAS COME TO THE AGENDA
Moreover, it has emerged that Allard Lindhout made a similar mistake in the past. The Dutch referee did not award a penalty in a similar situation after going to VAR in the Utrecht–Vitesse match three years ago, and later admitted in an interview that his decision was incorrect.
FENERBAHÇE IS REACTING
The yellow-navy community has reacted to the controversial referee decisions in European matches, especially in recent times, and Lindhout's attitude has been deemed "unacceptable" by Fenerbahçe. The club is expected to complete its official application to UEFA shortly.
