In a fire at a paper factory in Saraburi province, Thailand, 8 people lost their lives and 26 were injured. It has been reported that 2 individuals are missing.
A fire broke out in a paper factory located in the industrial area of Saraburi province, approximately one hundred kilometers north of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, where around 100 employees work.
8 DEAD, 26 INJURED, 2 MISSING
In the section of the factory where paper raw materials are stored on the ground floor, a fire that started around 11:50 local time yesterday resulted in the death of 8 people and injuries to 26 others. Authorities reported that 2 people are still missing.
EMPLOYEES TRAPPED INSIDE
According to initial assessments, most of the workers on the production line were evacuated from the building in time, but office workers on the second and third floors were trapped inside.
CONTROLLED AFTER 24 HOURS
The fire was fought with dozens of fire trucks dispatched to the scene, and the flames were brought under control in about 24 hours due to the flammable and explosive materials inside. After the fire, a large portion of the factory, which consists of 3 buildings, became unusable.
Meanwhile, the factory management announced that all necessary assistance and compensation would be provided to the relatives of the deceased and the injured employees.
