1.2 BILLION DOLLAR LOSS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG
According to analysis by OSINT researcher Chris O'Wiki, the consequences of such attacks or destruction targeting the warehouses of this e-commerce giant have the potential to extend far beyond the estimated direct loss of goods amounting to around 1.2 billion dollars.
The company alone holds approximately 45 percent of Russia's online retail market, and together with its rival Ozon, it controls 77 percent of this sector. Damage to this key platform, which sellers, logistics networks, and millions of customers across the country rely on, creates severe crises for businesses.
DEBRIS THAT WILL TAKE MONTHS AND A CRISIS REACHING THE FRONT LINE
Damage to logistics centers of this magnitude means repair processes taking months or even years. Indeed, after a previous major fire, the company took about a year and a half to repair the facility. However, the most striking dimension of the incident is not limited to the civilian economy.
It is known that these vast facilities, now reduced to ashes, were actively used by Russian volunteers to send unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), generators, communication devices, various components, and equipment to the front lines. Consequently, this fire has dealt a heavy blow to logistical support on the front as well.
