Efforts to bring under control the forest fires that broke out in Muğla's Menteşe and Antalya's Serik districts continue with intensive interventions from the air and the ground. Efforts to bring under control the forest fires that broke out in the Menteşe district of Muğla and the Serik district of Antalya continue. In both regions, where strong winds are making intervention difficult, teams are battling the flames from the air and the ground. In Serik, a forestry worker affected by smoke was taken to the hospital, while the fire is being fought with 5 planes, 15 helicopters, and 450 personnel.

FLAMES GREW QUICKLY IN MENTEŞE

A fire broke out for an undetermined reason in the forested area of the Yaraş Neighborhood in the Menteşe district of Muğla. Due to the strong winds affecting the region, the flames spread over a wide area in a short time. Teams affiliated with the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry, who quickly sprang into action upon the notification, are conducting an intense effort to bring the fire under control with the support of firefighting teams, as well as air and land vehicles.

LARGE-SCALE RESPONSE TO THE FIRE IN SERIK

The response to the fire that started yesterday in a non-forest area in the Akbaş Neighborhood of the Serik district of Antalya and spread to the forested area due to the wind also continues. In the region where teams from the Antalya Regional Directorate of Forestry have been dispatched, the flames are being fought from the air and the ground with 5 planes, 15 helicopters, 75 water tenders, 3 construction machines, and 450 personnel. During the extinguishing efforts, a forestry worker affected by smoke was taken to the hospital by health teams at the scene and is receiving treatment.

COMMANDOS TOOK SECURITY MEASURES IN THE REGION

To enable the extinguishing teams to carry out their work safely and comfortably, gendarmerie teams and commando units took extensive security measures in the region. The firefighting process is being monitored moment by moment from the fire management center established by Serik District Governor Cemal Şahin, General Director of Forestry Bekir Karacabey, and Antalya Regional Director of Forestry Kemal Kayıran.
