An automatic accident notification was sent to the 112 Emergency Call Center from a luxury car while driving in the Derince district of Kocaeli. Acting on the report, emergency crews reached the lifeless body of businessman Zeynel Abidin in the vehicle engulfed in flames in a forested area. The possibility that Abidin may have suffered a heart attack at the wheel is being considered.
In an incident that occurred in the Derince district of Kocaeli, a notification sent by a car's automatic emergency system alerted the teams. While traveling on Taşköprü Road, the luxury car veered off the road and was thrown into a wooded area, then caught fire. After the fire was extinguished, an examination of the vehicle determined that businessman Zeynel Abidin had lost his life.
THE CAR REPORTED ITS OWN ACCIDENT TO 112
The incident occurred yesterday around 17:00 on Taşköprü Road in Derince district. An automatic accident and emergency notification was sent to the 112 Emergency Call Center from the moving car. Following the notification, medical, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area.
The teams arriving at the scene saw that the car, which had gone off the road and entered the wooded area, was in flames. The fire was extinguished by the intervention of fire crews, and during an examination of the locked vehicle, the lifeless body of businessman Zeynel Abidin was found.
FIVE-HOUR EXAMINATION ON THE BURNED CAR
After the fire was brought under control, Gendarmerie Crime Scene Investigation teams carried out work for about 5 hours in the wooded area where the car was located and around the vehicle.
The luxury car, which became unusable in the fire, was removed from the area with the help of a tow truck after the examinations were completed. The body of Zeynel Abidin was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
POSSIBILITY OF A HEART ATTACK AT THE WHEEL
In the initial assessments, the possibility that businessman Zeynel Abidin may have suffered a heart attack while driving the car was emphasized. For this reason, it is assessed that control of the steering wheel was lost and the vehicle rolled down the slope and caught fire.
However, Abidin's exact cause of death has not yet been determined. The investigation launched by gendarmerie teams to uncover how the incident occurred is ongoing.
