The 26-year-old TikTok phenomenon Hollie Hanson was sentenced to 4 years in prison for the systematic violence she inflicted on her girlfriend Lauren Hanson over four years. Footage of the violence the influencer inflicted on her girlfriend has also emerged. In the case heard at Leeds Crown Court, it was determined that Hanson strangled her girlfriend for two minutes, injured her with a vodka bottle, and poured gasoline on her before setting her on fire. It was also revealed that Hanson prevented the victim from using her phone, did not allow her to communicate with loved ones, and kept control over their joint bank accounts. Additionally, she obstructed Lauren's contact with her child and burned the baby's clothes. The victim, Lauren, stated in her declaration, "She destroyed me as a person. I am a vulnerable and broken person. I finally realized that she never loved me. I never want to see her again." In the last incident that occurred in September of last year, Hanson threatened to strangle and kill Lauren. Lauren secretly recorded this attack and submitted it to the police. The court issued a restraining order prohibiting Hanson from all communication with Lauren in addition to her prison sentence. Police officials highlighted the incidents of domestic violence within the LGBTQ+ community following this event, urging victims to raise their voices.
